They think I am a rebel,
When I don’t agree with the rules.
They call me negative,
If I point out that they’re fools.
They’ll say that I’m a child,
If my ideas make more sense.
I’ve not learned to be an adult,
If I avoid pretense.
They want to understand it all,
But they misunderstand me.
So how can I let them direct my path,
When they cannot even see.
This world, it is so empty,
It’s cold and dark like a tomb.
The life is gone, it feels so wrong,
Like a barren mother’s womb.
Are we really people?
Are we even real?
Our senses have been numbed,
Above all, our sense to feel.
Business is corrupted,
Entertainment valued too high.
What’s fame and fortune for one person,
When so many starve and die?
How can we not feel guilty,
For living as we do?
No sense of pity, generosity,
For those who share our earth too.
Well I’m misunderstood,
So I try harder to understand.
But I’ll never comprehend,
How badly man can treat man.
When I’m older, I won’t forget.
Just wait and see what I will do.
I’ll be better than I am,
I’ll make dreams come true.
